Our Story-Moʻoʻōlelo
Condor Equipment Co. was born on the shores of Oʻahu in 2024, but our journey began long before we printed our first label. From decades of experience sailing, climbing, and surfing across the globe, we found our true north in the resilient spirit of Hawaiʻi.
Kūpaʻa- Steadfast, firm, and constant
Like the volcanoes which formed the rugged coastline of our islands, our products are designed to withstand and perform in the elements. With longevity in mind, we have developed products using high quality materials, double stitched seams, and intelligent design.
Mālama- To take care of, preserve, protect, or maintain
With a background in outdoor equipment manufacturing, we saw the waste being created by the outdoor industry and thought that something should be done. Our first prototypes were developed from recycled sails with an effort to reduce waste and environmental impact.
As we grow the business, we continue to prioritize sustainability, sourcing material in environmentally friendly ways and continue to produce custom up-cycled orders. Everything is handmade and currently manufactured in Hawaiʻi.

Connor McCrillis
With a passion for the outdoors and technical background in sail making, it was only fitting for Connor to start his own equipment company. Connor’s introduction to the outdoors and outdoor equipment began at an early age. The son of a Navy officer and an elementary school teacher, Connor grew up in the sailing community, competing internationally in keelboats, high-performance skiffs, and foiling classes. While his family moved across the United States throughout his childhood, Kailua, Oʻahu has always been the place he calls home.
In high school, Connor's passion for outdoor adventure expanded beyond the ocean to embrace the vertical world. He built an impressive climbing resume, testing his skills in bouldering, ice, alpine and big wall climbing. These diverse outdoor experiences exposed him to equipment that often fell short of what adventurers truly needed—gear which performed at the highest level, but was designed with sustainability in mind.
It was this gap in the market that inspired the creation of Condor Equipment Co. Connor has drawn from his years as an experienced athlete and his technical experience in boat design, sail-making, knife-making, and manufacturing carbon fiber ice climbing equipment. His expertise in both marine and alpine landscapes, combined with his desire for environmental stewardship, guides every aspect of design and production. He hopes to grow his company into a brand that is dedicated to high performance equipment, while protecting the places he loves.
